Carnivore Refeed Steps Explained
The refeed starts with water rehydration – drinking a cup of water over 30 minutes, followed by a cup every hour until thirst is quenched. Next, bone broth is introduced, as it's one of the most easily digestible, nutrient-rich, and warming foods for carnivores.
Probiotics play a crucial role in the first day of the refeed, as they help restore gut health after a serious depletion. IMPORTANT. They can be mixed into water or broth when it's not too hot, to avoid ingesting the capsule while the digestive system is waking up. Magnesium and glycine are also recommended to replenish magnesium levels and promote relaxation during the refeeding process, which can be mentally challenging.

By the end of the first day, kefir made from raw milk is introduced. If that's not available, unsweetened, natural, and organic kefir with a low-carb concentration will suffice. On day two, butter is added to the mix, followed by fish bone broth on day three. By this time, a pinch of salt can be added to the food – but remember to use potassium chloride (no-salt) instead of regular salt.
By day four, scrambled eggs and butter can be enjoyed. At this stage, most people can start feeling comfortable eating a wider variety of foods, but it's essential to avoid processed foods and take it slow. Remember, everyone's body is different, and we're still exploring uncharted territories when it comes to carnivore refeeds.
